Welcome!

West Sacramento is experiencing unprecedented growth, fueled largely by the increased statewide demand for residential property.  We are seeing people moving to West Sacramento from the San Francisco Bay Area as well as from within our region who are realizing the benefit of living closer to downtown Sacramento.  People are seeing the benefits of becoming a part of a city that has a unique history and identity and a city that looks to the future with optimism.

In the early 1990's, through extensive community involvement West Sacramento adopted a number of plans that were to guide our city's growth consistent with a common vision developed by the residents of West Sacramento.  Those plans included the Southport Framework Plan, the Triangle Plan, the West Capitol Avenue Action Plan and others.  The people envisioned growth that included a good mix of both residential and business development to keep our city's economy diverse and not reliant on a few sources of income, and a viable port.

Residential demand in West Sacramento is placing huge strains on our streets and city services like police and fire services.  To accommodate that growth, infrastructure investments will need to be made.

All West Sacramento residents should have a say on how their city is to develop and to participate in developing a vision for our city based on new realities. This site is intended to be a clearing house for all information relating to the growth of West Sacramento and to provide a convenient source of information such as community events relating to growth, information on pending developments, key meetings of the city council and planning commissions, and other information.  Browse through the links on this page to find this information.

This site will continue to evolve as our city's development evolved.  Not every question will be answered here.  If you have a question that is not answered here, please contact me and I will try to obtain answers. If the question is of general interest, it will be placed on the frequently asked questions page.
